Waved back at me

You were helpless
on the concrete steps,
the moon was pulling firm.
I pulled a life buoy ring from
a post on the promenade.
You showed your teeth in fear
I pushed down releasing
you back into the sea,
they are all incredulous when
I tell them in your appreciation,
you turned and
waved back at me.

I am my poetry, my poetry is me. I pray what I believe. I believe what I pray.
